Russian Revolution has racked up his second Group One win in a tight finish to the Oakleigh Plate at Caulfield.
The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained four-year-old was sent off the $4.60 favourite and after racing wide dug in the final 300m of Saturday’s 1100m sprint to beat Snitty Kitty ($9) by a half-neck, with Hellbent ($16) a short-half-head away third.
Russian Revolution has now won two of the top 1100m sprints on the Australian calendar, having taken out last year’s Group One Galaxy at Rosehill.
