Newmarket Handicap winner Shamexpress continues to attract heavy support to win Tuesday night’s King’s Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot in England.
Shamexpress has shortened from $10 into $8 outright third favouritism at Sportingbet Australia after drawing favourably in barrier three for the Group 1 event. Shamexpress was a $14 chance with Sportingbet just two weeks ago.
“We’ve taken three times as many bets for Shamexpress than what we have for the favourite Shea Shea and it’s not just our punters backing the Aussie horse, as Shamexpress is also being very well backed in England,” Sportingbet Australia CEO Michael Sullivan said.
“Shea Shea is still responsible for the biggest bets we’re holding including two significant four figure wagers,” Sullivan said.
Shea Shea, trained by South African Mike de Kock, has firmed from $3.80 into $3.20 with Sportingbet. Local hope Reckless Abandon has also been supported from $8 into $6.50.
In the Saturday’s Diamond Jubilee Stakes, the John O’Shea trained Sea Siren has firmed from $17 into $13 at Sportingbet. Society Rock has been backed from $8 into $4.40 favouritism ahead of Reckless Abandon and Gordon Lord Byron, both at $9.
