I thought he was very good in the Australian Guineas, working home with real purpose behind Hey Doc. Looks well placed here third up at 2000m.

NZ Derby winner who comes here with a bit of a reputation. I will say though that things have fallen into place for him. Will be interested to see how he does it if he is made to work.

On his best form, he’d be right in this. In saying that, his two runs this time in have been below expectation. On the flip side, he has the Hayes/Dabernig polish.

Seemingly lapped up the bog track in the Randwick Guineas and just savaged the line to get the win. He will only improve off that and is the clear horse to beat up to 2000m.

Given every chance by Moreira in the Randwick Guineas but just no match late for Inference. Lacks the staying prowess, but he has the brilliance.

Another real eye catcher in the Australian Guineas in arguably the worst ground. Looks ideally suited up to 2000m and has fresh legs. Live threat.

Was a victim of the bias in the Australian Guineas when attempting to make ground out wide. All the talk from the stable was that he was going to be trained as a sprinter/miler, so the step up to 2000m is odd. Too inconsistent to trust.

8. Sizzling Bullet (9) – Odds: $15
The interesting runner. Was nominated a couple of times to run in Melbourne but is in Sydney for this. Looks a knockout Derby hope, and he will get the trip here without many issues.

Bad luck probably cost him a place in the Randwick Guineas. Couldn’t really let down on the wet track, but he plugged away strongly, clearly crying out for further, which he gets here. Definite chance.

10. Land Of Plenty (2) – Odds: $34
Hard horse to trust. Runs well but just can’t quite crack it for a win, admittedly he hasn’t had much luck. I think 2000m is a bridge too far for him against some of these types engaged here.

I thought his effort in the Randwick Guineas was okay. First run for a little while and didn’t quicken but stuck on well. Definite chance up in trip. One for multiples.
