Final lead-up for the colts and geldings for next week’s Golden Slipper, all facing a heavy track for the first time. Favourite Mr Cha Cha is solid at ($4.00) and being by Snitzel should get through the going. Lohnro youngster Kumaon ($4.50) has firmed and good money for Klammer ($9.00 into $7.00).
Race 4 – Magic Night Stakes
Fillies do battle here in an even betting race. Lady Sharapova, from the in-form Hawkes yard, has tightened into $7.00. Slow track placegetter Press Report ($11) has been solid and Veloce Forte ($5.50) is having top spot threatened by Bring Me The Maid ($6.00).
Race 6 – The Galaxy
As the track condition worsened the price of Rain Affair has shortened. In a wide betting race, the noted wet-tracker’s price tumbled from $11 into $7.00. Rain affair’s stablemate, See The World, also tightened into $10. Favourite Villa Verde ($6.00) is solid. Money also for Temple Of Boom ($11.00-$8.00) and Famous Seamus ($12–$10).
Race 7 – George Ryder Stakes
Trainer Chris Waller holds the gun hand here with four runners. Topweight Boban has blown from $4.00 to $6.00, while two of Waller’s runners favourite Red Tracer ($3.00) and Sacred Falls ($8.00) have had their odds trimmed, with Red Tracer all the rage.
Kiwi three-year-old El Roca, untried in heavy going, is steady at $9.00.
Race 8 – Rosehill Guineas
Dissident ($5.50) is the best backed runner behind favourite Puccini ($5.00). Queenslander Teronado ($7.50) has been well supported. Shamus Award ($6.50), back to three-year-old company, has also attracted some decent wagers. Outsider Tupac Amaru is $51 into $21, on the back of a heavy track win.

Race 6 – Thomas Hanley Handicap
Punters have launched into favourite Sweet As Bro. As much as $4.60 was offered for the four-year-old, who quickly firmed into $3.70. Saint Or Sinner has the blows and after opening $3.70 favourite is out to $4.40.

Race 7 – Open Handicap
Heavy track in Brisbane and top trainer Kelso Wood saddles mudlark and favourite Benny’s Buttons ($4.20 favourite) and Seeking More ($7.00). That’s The One, having first start for new stable, well tried $8.00-$5.50.

Race 7 – Karrakatta Plate
Bulk of punters money has gone on Cadenza, best backed and solid $4.20 favourite. Fuld’s Bet ($4.80) also has admirers along with Rommel ($6.50).
