Romantic Touch has scored an all-the-way win in the JJ Atkins at Eagle Farm, giving trainer Gai Waterhouse her first win in the Group One race.
Ridden in the same manner which produced two lead-up wins in Sydney, Romantic Touch made his own luck from the front under Nash Rawiller on Saturday.
It was a clean sweep for Sydney-trained two-year-olds in the $500,000 race as Romantic Touch held on to beat Zoustar ($4) and Paximadia ($8).
Romantic Touch started favourite at $2.35 as he went one better than the Waterhouse-trained Kabayan who ran second last year when the race was known as the TJ Smith.
