Redkirk Warrior has become the first galloper in 100 years to win the famous Flemington Group One Newmarket Handicap first up.
The former Hong Kong galloper was having his first start since November after undergoing a throat operation in defeating Voodoo Lad and Star Turn.
Redkirk Warrior raced on the speed before drawing clear over the final 100m and the Lindsay Park stable now has their sights set on the Doncaster Handicap at Randwick during the championship.
