Results: Hallowed Crown wins the $1m Golden Rose 2014

Hallowed Crown has continued an unbeaten sequence to win the $1 million Golden Rose at Rosehill.

Taking his record to four wins from four starts, Hallowed Crown ($6.50) wore down Scissor Kick ($13) to claim the Group One race for Bart Cummings and his grandson James.

It is the first Group One success for the partnership.

The race was also a triumph for jockey Hugh Bowman who helped Hallowed Crown overcome a wide barrier.

Although Bowman was caught deep on Hallowed Crown, he was able to secure a trail behind Scissor Kick and followed the runner-up everywhere until easing out at the 350m.

“This horse could be anything,” James Cummings said.

“I can’t wait to see what he can do in the future.

“We thought he was one of the best three-year-old on his return two weeks ago and he had to do it again.

“He made such a sustained run in that race. Zoustar did it last year and there is shades of that this year.”

Hallowed Crown defeated Scissor Kick by a long head with Shooting To Win ($17) finished 1-1/4 lengths away third.
