Race 1 – 2:00pm – Admire Mars @ Arrowfield Plate (1400m)
Verbek has only just missed in each of his first two starts back, and he is ready to win at Randwick-Kensington on Wednesday.
The Turn Me Loose gelding flashed late to miss by the flare of a nostril at Kembla Grange when fresh, and he was last seen finishing second in a similar race at Goulburn.
Fitter third-up, I am happy to give him another chance.
Race 2 – 2:35pm – Keeneland Handicap (1400m)
Conrad can record another win at Randwick-Kensington this week.
The Maurice gelding showed promise during his short debut prep and broke his maiden at Wyong most notably, and he returned to the races in August to record an easy win in Class 1 company.
He has been freshened since that effort, but clearly goes well at this point of his preps.
Race 3 – 3:10pm – The Agency Real Estate Handicap (1800m)
Mightybeel will take winning form into the third in Sydney on Wednesday and I can’t find a reason why he won’t be in the finish again.
The Savabeel gelding needed his first start back to tune up, but gave them windburn at Rosehill last time out, greeting the judge nearly four lengths ahead of his rivals.
Fitter third-up and at 1800m, he is my best bet on the program.
Race 4 – 3:50pm – Harry Angel @ Darley Handicap (1000m)
Delexo shapes as the runner to beat in Race 4.
The Kristen Buchanan-trained gelding has returned to the races in career-best form this time, winning each of his first two starts back and finishing second in a Midway Handicap at Randwick on Epsom Day.
He strikes this race in peak order and it is a genuine drop in class.
Race 5 – 4:30pm – Benchmark 72 Handicap (1550m)
It looks to be a day for favourites at Randwick-Kensington this week, and I am also confident that $2.10 chance The Denzel will win Race 5.
The Denzel finished second in each of his first three starts back this time before charging in to score a dominant five-length win at Wyong last time.
This is harder, but that last effort was particularly difficult to ignore, and he gets into this contest well under the conditions.
Race 6 – 5:10pm – Heineken 3 Handicap (1550m)
I’m happy to stick with Showtime Lady in the penultimate race at Randwick-Kensington on Wednesday.
Showtime Lady charged home to score an emphatic victory at Goulburn in late September and she only just missed in a similar contest last time.
Getting out to the 1550m at this point of her prep looks ideal and with even luck, she’ll be hard to hold out.
Race 7 – 5:50pm – Vinery Handicap (1300m)
Le Vizir couldn’t have been more impressive at Warwick Farm when resuming and he can record another win at Randwick-Kensington on Wednesday.
The Siyouni entire has recorded three wins and a minor placing from just seven career starts to date, but his first-up run this time way probably his best so far, and it suggested that he is in for a glittering preparation.
