Race 1 – 1:25pm – 1st Crop Magna Grecia Foals Handicap (1400m)
Leen Fox will take plenty of improvement into his second campaign start at Randwick-Kensington on Wednesday, and he can break his maiden.
The Foxwedge gelding filled the minors at each of his first two career starts in April, and he resumed here a fortnight ago to finish fifth, beaten a length and a half by Aeecee Express.
Under Hugh Bowman and from the good draw, he’ll be hard to hold out.
Race 2 – 2:00pm – Buy @ Irish Sales Online Handicap (2400m)
I’m going to give the consistent Terwilliker another chance at Randwick-Kensington this week.
He doesn’t win out of turn, but Terwilliker has certainly been a competitive galloper this preparation, and he is unlucky not to have won one of his last three starts.
He enters this contest off the back of a credible second behind Torrens in a Saturday race at Randwick, and he might not be offered a better opportunity to win than this.
Race 3 – 2:35pm – Heineken Handicap (1150m)
I’m happy to stick with Flying Crazy third-up in Sydney on Wednesday.
He showed ability at the trials prior to debuting and put the writing on the wall with a lovely win in maiden company here at the beginning of August.
I thought that there was a lot to like about his effort for third, beaten a length and a half by Conrad at Hawkesbury on Rowley Mile Day, and he’ll take a lot more improvement into this contest.
Race 4 – 3:10pm – The Agency Real Estate Handicap (1550m)
Majella looks beautifully placed to score at Randwick-Kensington this week.
The Matt Smith-trained mare needed her first run when finishing midfield in BM72 company here first-up, but responded with a lovely win in an easier race at Newcastle.
She returned another bold effort to finish fourth, only just beaten into a placing in Saturday company on the main track here last time, and she looks to be in peak condition for this contest.
Race 5 – 3:45pm – Vinery Stud Handicap (1300m)
Morioka will resume in Race 5 at Randwick-Kensington on Wednesday, and it looks the perfect spring launchpad for her.
The three-year-old daughter of Maurice is yet to record her first win, but she is also yet to miss placing, and she found form around some good gallopers during her debut prep that was highlighted by her third placing in the Listed Bill Carter.
She has had the benefit of a couple of trials in the lead-up to her return and will be piloted by James McDonald.
Race 6 – 4:20pm – Earthlight @ Darley Handicap (1300m)
Park Avenue can make a winning return to the races this week.
The Fastnet Rock gelding was excellent during his short debut preparation, winning each of his first two starts and returned to the paddock after finishing third behind Verne in Saturday city company.
His two trials in the lead-up to this return have been slick, and he gets into this race well under the conditions.
Race 7 – 4:55pm – Benchmark 72 Handicap (1000m)
Miss Dior is ready to win when she steps out in the last at Randwick-Kensington on Wednesday.
The Brazen Beau mare has had three starts back this time, finishing second on two occasions, including an agonizingly close effort behind Duchess here a fortnight ago.
She meets that horse better at the weights this week and can turn the tables.
