Race: Ramornie Handicap (Listed), Race 7, 1200m

The feature race of the day anywhere is the Listed Ramornie Handicap at Grafton which is one of the best country carnivals on the calendar.

They raced at Grafton with a 3m rail on Thursday last week and again Sunday with the rail returning to the true position.

This could favour the inside barriers, but history suggests that the track generally plays evenly.

I’m hoping this is the case as I like one that will be back off the pace.

Zestful (6.00) comes into this first up off two very nice trials and carries a great first up record having won 3 from 4, posting smart figures in those wins.

Clearly targeted at the race and having gone out off a big run in the Group 3 Triscay stakes, she looks perfectly placed.

She will be a long way back, but I expect the pace to be reasonable with her having every chance to use her explosive acceleration and she looks nice value.
