Race 1 – 11:28pm – Open Handicap (1825m)

Six year old gelding Trevelyan was not beaten far in a class 6 plate at Eagle Farm two back before saluted in an open class race last start by 1.75 lengths.

The son of Pierro has an excellent record at this track and has been placed in 10 of 17 on the good surface.

Race 2 – 12:03pm – Benchmark 75 Handicap (1825m)

The Lee Freedman trained He Is has put together back to back wins so far this prep at Ipswich and Doomben and this looks another winnable race for him.

He has drawn to get a nice run in transit from barrier two and the step up in distance suits.

Race 3 – 12:38pm – 3YO Quality Handicap (1300m)

The Tony Gollan trained Zavaboom is a talented three year old gelding who has two wins from five career race starts.

The son of Spirit Of Boom started this campaign with a win at this track and was narrowly denied in a 3YO quality race last time out.

I love the fact that he has a trial win in between runs and he should be ready to peak at this stage in his prep.

Race 4 – 1:13pm – Benchmark 85 Handicap (1600m)

Gave Us Up comes into this assignment having won two of his last three and five of 15 overall.

He was a dominant winner by two lengths in a benchmark 72 at this track and distance when he was last seen at the races and this is another very winnable race for him.

Race 5 – 1:48pm – Listed Dalrello Stakes (1000m)

Steady Ready could not have been any more impressive when scoring by almost six lengths on debut at Doomben.

The Better Than Ready colt will take plenty of natural improvement out of that experience and Luke Tarrant will steer from barrier two.

Race 6 – 2:23pm – Class 3 Plate (1200m)

The Tony Gollan trained Palladas finished his last campaign with an impressive 2.3 length win at the Sunshine Coast .

His record first up doesn’t stand out but a recent trial win at Doomben suggests he is ready to go fresh.

Race 7 – 3:02pm – Group 2 Queensland Guineas (1600m)

Southern Stock has managed two wins from his last three starts and has a month in etween runs to freshen him up for this assignment.

He impressed with a three quarter length win at Doomben on the heavy track in late March but they beat the third horse home by a further 4.25 lengths.

Menazzi has been a consistent performer during his short racing career so far having placed in seven of nine starts.

Back to back wins were followed by two placings in a row and he represents good each way value at $26.

Race 8 – 3:42pm – Group 2 Victory Stakes (1200m)

I’m keen to take on a few at the top of the market in this event with many questions marks surrounding them.

Chris Waller has quite an opinion of his three year old colt Ranch Hand who was last seen finishing 10th in the Group 1 Australian Guineas.

I love the fact that he is stepping back in distance and he represents great value at the double figure odds.

Three year old filly Startantes can also run a race at each way odds in this event in my opinion.

She has won five of 14 career starts and has placed in 10 of those.

There was no missing her trial leading into this first up assignment where she came from near last to finish third with some quick closing sectionals.

Race 9 – 4:18pm – Class 6 Plate (1400m)

This looks a winnable race for Blondeau who has been competitive at a much higher level than this in the past.

The Chris Waller trained was very consistent throughout his last campaign and he has performed well fresh in the past.

Let’s finish the day on a winning note!
