The time-honoured Queensland Cup headlines another ten-race program at Brisbane’s Eagle Farm Racecourse on Saturday.

Ladbrokes Racing Club No Metro Wins Handicap (1000m) – 12:48pm AEDT
Hold On Honey looks well placed to return to winning form at Eagle Farm on Saturday.
The Counterattack gelding has finished second in two of three runs back from a break, including an eye-catching effort over this route at his latest.
He’s hard fit this week and might not be offered a better opportunity to win.

Widden Basil Nolan Jr QTIS 2YO Plate (1000m) – 1:23pm AEDT
Just two of the ten confirmed starters in Race 2 have previous experience and there are plenty of debutants hard in the market.
I am happy to stay out of this one from a betting perspective.

Gallopers Sports Club BM68 Handicap (1200m) – 1:58pm AEDT
Daytona returned a decent first-up effort to place at Doomben a fortnight ago, and I’m confident that he can return to winning form this week.
The former Sydneysider returned some nice efforts under the care of Michael Freedman last time in, and he wasn’t out of place in black type company.
With natural improvement this week, he can build on his unbeaten second-up record.

RQ Supports Racing Industry Safety QTIS 3YO Handicap (1400m) – 2:33pm AEDT
In Evidence can return to winning form on Queensland Cup Day.
The Nicconi gelding has made ten appearances at the races since debuting, winning four times and finishing second on as many occasions.
He steps out this week following a rare miss, yet still credible fourth in a similar handicap at Doomben, but I don’t see any real reason to jump off at this stage, and I think he can bounce back.

Sky Racing BM80 Handicap (1830m) – 3:08pm AEDT
We were with Kronenbourg at his latest start, and I am confident that he can win again on Queensland Cup Day.
The Vadamos gelding won three in a row in winter before being freshened, and ater only just missing over 1350m at Doomben last month, he struck easily up in Toowoomba.
Fitter third-up, this looks the next logical step!

Drinkwise BM75 Handicap (1200m) – 3:43pm AEDT
Outlawed has been excellent this time in and looms as the one to beat again in Race 6 at Eagle Farm on Saturday.
The Foxwedge mare has won three of five runs since resuming, finishing second on the other two occasions and finding form around some quality gallopers.
She’s another who we were with on Weetwood Day a couple of weeks ago, and she’s another for whom I see no reason to jump off this week.
Suggested Bet: No. 13 Outlawed
Road To Magic Millions On Sale Now Class 3 Plate (1500m) – 4:18pm AEDT
A good drop in class for Brosnan, and I think it might be just be what he needs to return to winning form.
The Snitzel gelding has finished down the order in a couple of Saturday metro races back from a break, but he’s performed admirably in black type company throughout his career, and he’s certainly up to winning something in Queensland.
Jaden Lloyd has options in running from the rails draw.

Listed Queensland Cup (2400m) – 4:57pm AEDT
Desert Icon is fit, dropping in class and should prove tough to beat in Saturday’s Queensland Cup.
The Sea The Stars gelding has improved with each of his four starts back from a break, and he was last seen filling the minors, beaten half a length in the Colin Stephen Quality at Rosehill.
There is some talent engaged in this contest, but I think he might be the best of it, while the booking of James Orman adds further confidence.

XXXX Gold Class 6 Handicap (1400m) – 5:33pm AEDT
I’m going to have an each way play on Mob Buster in the penultimate race on Queensland Cup Day.
The Spill The Beans gelding was freshened after finishing down the order here in July, and returned with a fair effort to finish fourth in BM85 company last month.
He’s a horse that tends to enjoy noticeable improvement with a run under his belt, and with no real standout engaged, I think he can fight out the finish.
Suggested Bet: No. 4 Mob Buster
Canadian Club Open (1400m) – 6:15pm AEDT
This is a really smart race, filled with horses that have typically performed really well in Saturday metro company, including Steely.
It has been a short while between wins for Steely, but he has returned some competitive efforts this time in, including a credible third behind Barbie’s Fox in Winter Challenge.
I think that Saturday metro company in Queensland is probably his go these days, and this looks a good race for him.
