Queen Elizabeth Stakes: Record bet taken on Winx

Champion mare Winx will be out to match Black Caviar’s famous record of 25 successive wins when she lines up in the Group One Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Randwick this Saturday but when it comes to the betting ring she’s already breaking her own betting records.

A TAB punter stands to profit $22,410 after placing a whopping $124,500 on Winx to win at $1.18, making it the largest bet ever placed on Winx.

Previously the biggest bet ever taken by the TAB on Winx was $114,000 in her last start win in the Group 1 George Ryder Stakes at $1.10.

The $1.18 on offer from the TAB didn’t last with the bookmaker reeling in her price to $1.15 after the big bet was placed.
