It’s all well and good looking at the form and ticking off or crossing out a certain runner, but it is the trainer that knows them best, and at Justhorseracing.com.au, we have put together the thoughts and insights of those that know best when it comes to this weekends racing action.
Chris Waller Stable
Understandably, Waller will largely focus his attention on Winx and her tilt at the Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) this Saturday at Randwick, but he does have several key runners in the Sydney Cup (3200m) and the Coolmore Legacy (1600m) as well as an import making his Australian debut.
Lindsay Park Operation
The Hayes/Dabernig team is always strong numbers wise and that is indeed the case again this weekend with a host of runners at Randwick, Caulfield and Morphettville as the Adelaide Carnival warms up. Tom Dabernig does give a strong push towards the three year Derryn in the Arrowfield Sprint (1200m). There is also vision of Almoonqith working, and to the eye, he looked pretty good.
Godolphin- John O’Shea/John Ferguson
Astern might be off to stud, but the action doesn’t stop for Godolphin as they saddle up nine runners this Saturday at Randwick. Good push for Impending, who is back to his own age. But O’Shea was glowing in his praise of Almanzora. There is also John Ferguson discussing the two imports for the Sydney Cup (3200m).
Darren Weir Stable
Most have Big Duke marked down as a good thing this Saturday in the Sydney Cup (3200m) given the significant weight drop. Hear DK and his thoughts on the stayer, as well as Real Love, who races against her own sex for the first time since joining Weir when she lines up in the Coolmore Legacy (1600m).
