Provocative gains start in 2016 Queensland Oaks Field

First emergency Provocative has gained a start in the Group One Queensland Oaks with the scratching of Beluga Blue.

The Tony Pike-trained filly, to be ridden by Leith Innes, has been among the market leaders for Saturday’s Classic since her win at Ipswich two weeks ago.

Beluga Blue’s trainer Leon Macdonald told stewards the filly had a laceration to her leg after an incident in her box.
