Prestige Ole out for Anzac Day Stakes 2025 honours

David Brideoake and Matt Jenkins are hoping to extend a purple patch of form with their “Prestige” runners as Prestige Ole gears up for his next challenge this Friday.

The two-year-old colt will chase a third consecutive win in the Listed Anzac Day Stakes (1400m) at Flemington, building on a strong run of metropolitan victories by the stable’s trio – Prestige Forever, Prestige Ole, and Prestige Snitzel – over the past five weeks.

Prestige Ole kicked off his winning streak with a maiden success at Ballarat on March 7, followed by a determined performance over 1400m at Flemington on March 29, where he narrowly prevailed.

Despite a four-week gap between runs, Brideoake is confident the colt is on an upward trajectory.

“He worked on Saturday morning over 1000 metres on the course proper and I think he’s continued to progress,” Brideoake said.

“His recovery was fabulous, and my feeling is pretty good with him, I think we’ll go okay.

“He’s only got to make a little step to be pretty competitive.

“I love horses that keep improving, bit by bit, and he’s one of those.”

Looking ahead, Brideoake has already pencilled in spring targets for Prestige Forever and Prestige Snitzel, with hopes that Prestige Ole can join them in more prominent races.

Prestige Forever is currently spelling after running in the Group 1 ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m) at Randwick during The Championships, while Prestige Snitzel is also headed to the paddock following a win at Mornington last weekend.

Brideoake believes Prestige Ole is capable of stretching out in distance as he continues to mature physically.

“He’ll get a mile in the spring and he’s just getting bigger and stronger,” Brideoake said.

“He’s actually thrived with the training.

“At one stage I thought he might have to go out for a spell, but he’s gone the other way.

“I’ve stepped it up and he’s come up to match it.”

Ben Allen, who was aboard for Prestige Ole’s last-start Flemington win, will retain the ride on Friday.
