The Everest has a new slot holder

A new chapter in The Everest has begun with Mulberry Racing stepping in to take over the slot previously held by The Star.

Racing NSW has officially confirmed that Mulberry Racing secured the spot after presenting what was deemed the most persuasive offer during a competitive expression of interest process.

Founded just last year in 2023, Mulberry Racing brands itself as “a dynamic new force in Australian Racing” and is already making waves with a strong data-driven philosophy.

They maintain an equine facility near Sydney and race thoroughbreds not only across Australia and New Zealand but also in the United States. Among their runners is the stakes performer Jedibeel, trained by Brad Widdup.

Mulberry Racing also made a statement at this year’s Magic Millions sale, acquiring a $700,000 Home Affairs filly.

“We are excited to welcome Mulberry Racing as our newest slot holder in The TAB Everest,” Racing NSW’s chief operating officer Graeme Hinton said.

“In particular, the opportunity to target a new demographic is what The TAB Everest is all about.”

Mulberry Racing’s racing manager Lachlan Sheridan is confident they can both entertain and compete.

“At Mulberry Racing, data drives every decision we make,” Sheridan said.

“From day one, we’ve used this approach to build a strong stable across Australia and the United States – one that we believe has the quality and depth to win The Everest.”

The $20 million race will take place at Randwick on October 18.

Punters can now find early markets and promotions for The Everest through the top betting sites in Australia.
