Jockey Michelle Payne who is currently in the Alfred Hospital following a fall at Mildura on Monday had previously been encouraged by her brother Patrick to retire from riding.
Brother Patrick on Sky Sports Radio said:
“We tried to talk her out of it a while ago,”
“We’ve encouraged her to retire but it’s her decision.
“What more does she have to do?
“But she will make that decision. She is a pig-headed little bugger.
Should Michelle hang up the saddle? Or would you like to see her race on?

But Patrick says Michelle Payne is a girl that makes up her own mind on things. Michelle was in good spirits last night when they spoke.
