Melbourne Cup-winning rider Michelle Payne will ride in New Zealand next weekend.
Palmerston North trainer Mike Breslin has secured Payne to ride impressive last-start Awapuni winner Ringo in the Group One Thorndon Mile over 1600m at Trentham on January 23.
Payne’s book of rides at Ellerslie on Karaka Million night already includes last-start Ellerslie winner Bamurru for Cambridge trainer Gary Alton on January 24.
Payne will be a special guest at the New Zealand Bloodstock yearling sales at Karaka on January 25, when Rich Hill Stud sells a brother to her Melbourne Cup-winning mount Prince Of Penzance.
