Last year’s Melbourne Cup winner Almandin may not be far off a return to racing with owner Lloyd Williams hinting he might return in late August.

Almandin is yet to be seen at the race track since his emphatic victory in what was Australia’s richest race the Melbourne Cup last year.

Almandin will again be set for this years Melbourne Cup with talented stayer sitting on the third line of betting at $21.

Owner Lloyd Williams says there’s a chance of Melbourne Cup winner Almandin resuming at Moonee Valley on the last Saturday in August.
