News:

Missile Coda will be given an opportunity to embellish her record with black-type before retirement after a dominant victory at Rosehill.

Listed races in Queensland are now on the rehabilitated four-year-old’s program after a flawless performance in the Colin Hayes Hall of Fame Handicap (1200m).

Suspended twice last year for barrier incidents, Missile Coda has been on her best behaviour for trainers Peter and Paul Snowden, who sharpened her further by utilising blinkers for the first time in her 12-race career.

Missile Coda ($16) orchestrated a clinical front-running win with Andrew Adkins, hitting the line 1-3/4 lengths clear of Dissolute ($8.50).

Star Reflection ($13) was a length third and the Chris Waller-trained $2.70 favourite Noire was fourth in her comeback to racing.

Paul Snowden said Missile Coda would now be aimed at Queensland, where the tight configuration at Ipswich should suit the on -peed runner.

“She could go to stud this year so hopefully we can get that elusive black-type win with her,” he said.

Snowden admitted Missile Coda was one of the most talented – and frustrating – members of the stable.

“She’s always been a mare that’s worked with the best in the stable but the more she got into her career those little chinks started to appear,” he said.

Adkins was pleased the mare had her act together.

“She had some easy sectionals and I was able to loom when she balanced up and skip away,” he said.
