Peter Moody trained Manighar has won the first of the Group 1 races today at Rosehill racecourse ahead of Rangirangdoo in second and Shoot Out in third.

Manighar settled in the back half of the field, jockey Luke Nolen took the last start Australian Cup winner to the outside during the turn and was able to fight off Rangirangdoo who tested Manighar down the straight.

After today’s win Manighar has been installed as the second favourite for the BMW at $5 behind Lucas Cranach.
