Manaya gets a start in 2016 Woodlands Stakes Field

The scratching of Eckstein has paved the way for favourite Manaya to make her debut in the Woodlands Stakes at Scone.

The Michael Costa-trained filly, a half-sister to multiple Group One winner Hot Danish, was the favourite for Saturday’s Listed race even when she was the emergency as acceptances were taken.

She has won her two barrier trials by a combined margin of 15 lengths.

Costa will wait until Saturday’s final scratching deadline before deciding on a jockey.

Blake Shinn and Jason Collett have ridden her in her trials but both are engaged at Doomben on Saturday.
