Makybe Diva Stakes: Brad Rawiller to miss ride on Black Heart Bart

Brad Rawiller

A new rider is required for Black Heart Bart in the Makybe Diva Stakes after Brad Rawiller had an appeal against a careless riding ban dismissed.

Rawiller fronted the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board on Tuesday looking to have a seven-meeting suspension reduced to ride the Darren Weir-trained galloper in the Group One race at Flemington on September 10.

It was the second time in two days that Rawiller fronted the RAD Board.

Outed for 10 meetings on a careless riding charge at Sandown last Wednesday, Rawiller had that reduced to seven meetings at Monday’s appeal.

Racing Victoria stewards then handed the jockey a seven-meeting ban for careless riding on Black Heart Bart in the Memsie Stakes at Caulfield last Saturday.

Combined with his first ban, Rawiller’s cumulative suspension allows him to resume on September 11, one day after the Makybe Diva Stakes.

Dean Yendall had his appeal against an 11-meeting suspension incurred at Echuca on August 22 dismissed.

Yendall was appealing the severity of sentence that has him ruled out of Saturday’s Moonee Valley meeting where he was to ride Excess Knowledge in the Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes.
