A race in Hong Kong which is on the radar for Queensland star Buffering is now part of the Global Sprint Challenge.

The Chairman’s Sprint Prize at Sha Tin on May 1 is one of 10 races in the 2016 Global Sprint Challenge replacing the KrisFlyer International Sprint in Singapore.

The Chairman’s Sprint Prize (1200m) was elevated to International Group One status in October last year.

Trainer Robert Heathcote has the Al Quoz Sprint (1000m) in Dubai on World Cup night in March and the Chairman’s Sprint Prize in mind for Buffering who is set to run at Saturday’s Magic Millions Day at the Gold Coast.

The Group One Lightning Stakes (1000m) in Melbourne in February is the opening leg of the international series.

A US$1 million bonus is on offer to the connections of any horse that wins a leg of the series in three countries.
