Magic Millions Classic 2025 odds drift after barrier draw

Pre-race favorite Icarian Dream faces a tough challenge in her bid to secure trainer Ciaron Maher a third Magic Millions 2YO Classic title, after drawing the widest barrier for Saturday’s Gold Coast showdown.

The promising filly will start from barrier 16 after the removal of emergencies, having initially drawn barrier 21.

Maher, training alongside David Eustace, has previously triumphed in this prestigious race with Away Game in 2020 and Coolangatta in 2022. Icarian Dream, a daughter of Blue Point, looks to follow in their footsteps after her dominant performance in the B.J. McLachlan Stakes at Eagle Farm on December 21.

While the draw proved challenging for Icarian Dream, it was a more favorable outcome for other top contenders. Pre-draw second favorite Invincible Woman secured barrier nine, while Gallo Nero, the third elect, landed barrier five for Team Hawkes.

Post-draw betting markets have adjusted, with Invincible Woman emerging as the new favorite at $5 with online betting sites. Gallo Nero follows at $6, while Icarian Dream has eased to $7. First emergency Space Rider is also priced at $7, contingent on gaining a start in the final field.
