Magic Millions favourite Capitalist has been a no-show in a scheduled Randwick barrier trial because of a slightly elevated temperature.
Co-trainer Peter Snowden told stewards that as a precaution he would not run the colt in Tuesday’s trial but the problem was merely an inconvenience.
Unbeaten in two starts, Capitalist is the odds-on favourite for the $2 million Classic at the Gold Coast on January 9.
His stablemate Flippant, second favourite for the Magic Millions Guineas, won her trial on Tuesday.
