Local hero Luckygray has been crunched from $3 into $2.60 clear-cut favouritism at Sportingbet to win Saturday’s Group 1 Kingston Town Classic at Ascot.

The Railway Stakes winner has been the subject of a number of significant wagers at Sportingbet over the past few days.

“We took a bet of $15,000 at $3 for Luckygray on Saturday morning and a couple of other decent four-figure bets have followed,” Sportingbet’s Andrew Brown said.

“It’s a cracking field with a number of chances but punters have singled out Luckygray and so far he’s been by far the best backed,” Brown said.

Mr Moet, which ran a 2.8L seventh behind Luckygray in last month’s Railway Stakes, has eased from $4 out to $4.40 at Sportingbet.

Ihtsahymn remains steady at $5.50 ahead of Playing God, which has drifted from $8 to $8.50.
