The Gerald Ryan-trained Lucky Raquie’s odds of winning this year’s Golden Slipper have been slashed from $101 into $31 at Sportingbet.com.au after the two-year-old filly took out today’s Black Opal Stakes at Canberra.
Ghibellines drifted from $19 out to $31 for the Slipper after finishing unplaced in the Black Opal.
“Ghibellines has been very well supported with us to win the Slipper and Lucky Raquie beat him easy, so we have to treat the filly with some respect,” Sportingbet.com.au’s Andrew Brown said.
Earthquake remains a solid $2.90 favourite in front of Mossfun at $8.50.
