Queen Elizabeth Stakes winner Lucia Valentina will take the first steps in her upcoming spring campaign in a barrier trial at Wyong.
The Kris Lees-trained mare runs over 845 metres on Monday morning with her Group One-winning stablemate Le Romain competing in a separate heat.
Lucia Valentina will be set for the Cox Plate while Randwick Guineas winner Le Romain is on a path to the Epsom Handicap.
The two are scheduled to resume on August 20 with Lucia Valentina expected to take on Winx in the Warwick Stakes (1400m) and Le Romain to run in the Show County Quality (1200m).
