Omissions:

Scottish: With Winx going for a spell it is now likely that Scottish will head to the Emirates Stakes and not the Melbourne Cup.

Howard Be Thy Name: Trainer Darren Weir has stated that Howard Be Thy Name will not run in the Melbourne Cup field after another below par run in Wednesday’s Bendigo Cup where he finished fifth.

Tally: I was surprised that Tally remained in acceptances this morning but despite Godolphin paying up for him we feel he is unlikely to run in the race. His run in the Caulfield Cup was tough and it did not suggest he will get the two miles. Godolphin has quite a few key runners already in the race so we don’t see why they will run him. I think they are just keeping their options open but we are confident he won’t line up.

*Our possible Melbourne Cup field is subject to change and will be updated as news breaks surround certain horses.
