Twelve mares line up for the La Trice Classic over the nine furlongs and as always with a quality mare’s race, there’s several chances.
1. ROSIE ROCKET
Very good three runs back when third to Mr. Moet and Luckygray in the G1 Railway Stakes but in two subsequent runs, she’s finished well down the track in G1 Kingston Town Classic and C. B. Cox Stakes. Will appreciate getting back to her own sex here and the set weight conditions are also in her favour.

2. MABEL GRACE
Narrowly won the Listed Jungle Dawn Stakes two starts back with 60kgs before getting back and running home as well as she could with 61kgs in the Listed Starstruck last start behind Upon This Rock. She does drop 3.5kgs and going well enough to be seriously considered here.

3. UPON THIS ROCK
She ran third in the Jungle Dawn two starts back before taking a more prominent position in the run when winning the Startstruck Stakes two weeks back. Expect her to follow a similar pattern from her good draw and again, be very hard to run down.

4. MISS TIPSY TOPSY
She’s had two runs back from an eleven week spell for a seventh (beaten 3 ¼ lengths) in the Jungle Dawn and at her most recent start, fifth behind Upon This Rock in the Startstruck. Had to do a bit of work in the run last start and can improve again but the does rise 3.5kgs under the conditions of this race.

5. RANTORINI
On her past two performances, which include a third in the Jungle Dawn and a second in the Starstruck, it looks like she is cheery ripe for this race. Won the Belmont Oaks (2000m) fourth up last prep and despite the wide draw here, think she’ll be right in the mix.

6. MISS VINNOIRE
She’s only missed a place twice in eight starts this prep and although hasn’t cracked it for a win, has ran second in the Jungle Mist and outbobbed by Mable Grace in the Jungle Dawn. From her wide draw, led in the Startstruck last start before finishing third (beaten 2 ¾ ) behind Upon This Rock. Tackles the 1800m for only the second time in her twenty-eight start career.

7. THE SOCIAL NETWORK
Would think it safe to say, with a record of one win (a Northam Maiden) from nineteen starts that she’s aiming too high here. She’s been safely held at her last two starts behind Galaxy Prince and Global Flirt.

8. DARK MISS
She put two wins together in Restricted company before having a shot at the Listed Starstruck at her last start. Settled at the tail from her wide draw then and finished eighth, beaten 4.4 lengths. Lightly raced 4yo mare who has some upside to her but not enough to be competitive here.

9. SHEZAPRO
She won well first up, winning a RST 72 (1200m) by 1 ¼ two starts back but found the step up in class to great last start, when finishing second to last (beaten 8.5 lengths) behind Accelarometer. She ran third in the Listed Natasha Stakes as a 3yo filly back in March but just struggling to recapture that kind of form since.

10. CORTONA
You have to go back twenty starts and to September 2010 to find this girls’ last win and she’ll find this much harder than her last start second in a Bunbury RST 64 event.

11. TIFFANY YELLOW
Won a RST 68 event by 2 ¼ three starts back but her two runs since, in the Listed Jungle Dawn and Startstruck Stakes, she’s finished tenth in both, beaten 5 and 5.3 lengths respectively. She won’t find this any easier hence her big price.

12. MEGG’S CURRENCY
Comes to town competing at Geraldton at her latest outings where she’s recorded a win a RST 68 event and a fourth in a RST 68. It would be a big surprise if she figured in the finish.

SUMMARY
Sticking with the Starstruck form here and Upon This Rock and Rantorini. The former gets a sweet run from her gate and is well placed in a set weights race. Rantorino does go up 3.5kgs but that’s offset by the fact that she’ll appreciate the trip. Rosie Rocket will enjoy being back to this class and can easily bounce back.
