Key runner scratched from 2016 Coolmore Stud Stakes Field

Capitalist’s spring woes have continued with the colt scratched from the Coolmore Stud Stakes at Flemington because of a stone bruise to a hoof.

The Golden Slipper winner was a late scratching from last Friday’s Manikato Stakes because of the rain-affected track and Saturday’s Coolmore was to be his first Group One race this season.

The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained three-year-old has had two starts since his Slipper win in March, finishing fourth in the San Domenico Stakes and third in the Roman Consul Stakes behind Coolmore contenders Russian Revolution and Astern.

Capitalist who was an $8.50 chance in betting will be scratched from the G1 Coolmore Stud Stakes following an inspection of the horse which found a stone bruise to his near fore.

Team Snowden hope they can get the horse fit to contest Saturday weeks Darley Classic.
