Newmarket Handicap winner The Quarterback headlines nominations for the $250,000 VOBIS Gold Sprint, one of the features on the Victorian Owners and Breeders race day at Caulfield.

The Quarterback is the highest-rated horse entered for Saturday’s meeting.

Other nominations for the 1200m-Sprint include the promising Mick Kent-trained Supido, stakes-winning mare Miss Promiscuity, Hareeba Stakes winner Thermal Current and last start Typhoon Tracy Stakes-winning filly Almighty Girl.

The VOBIS Gold Sprint is one of six races on the nine-race program which are restricted to VOBIS Gold qualified horses.

Aside from the VOBIS Gold races, the meeting will also feature the Listed $120,000 Anniversary Vase (1400m) which has attracted 20 nominations.

Charmed Harmony, a last-start runner-up to Black Heart Bart in the Victoria Handicap, heads the weights for the Anniversary Vase with 60kg.

Black Heart Bart, runner-up in the Newmarket, will run in Saturday’s Group One All Aged Stakes at Randwick.
