James McDonald returns from 18-month ban

High profile jockey James McDonald is set for his return to riding after a lengthy 18 month ban was reduced to a suspension for the next six weeks.

McDonald’s reduction from a ban to a suspension on Tuesday means McDonald is able to ride in official trials which he will do on Friday.

Trainers have been quick to show their support for the jockey who was outed after placing a bet on his own horse in December 2015.

James McDonald has been booked in 15 trials by 5 different trainers for Friday’s trials at Randwick and will be free to return to race riding on 15th May.
