It’s Me ruled out of 2021 The Kosciuszko field

Connections of It’s Me have decided to bypass another tilt at the Kosciuszko and will instead concentrate on alternative spring assignments.

The mare’s trainer Brett Cavanough told Racing NSW stewards on Thursday that’s It’s Me would not be put forward as a contender for the rich sprint, restricted to selected country-trained horses.

“Trainer Brett Cavanough has informed Racing NSW stewards that It’s Me will not run in this year’s Kosciuszko following the ownership group making a decision to target other races throughout the spring carnival,” Racing NSW said in a statement.

“Mr Cavanough has advised It’s Me has not had any training setback and has pleased him in her preparation thus far.”

It’s Me is unbeaten in four starts but has not raced since last year’s Kosciuszko due to a tendon injury.

The Kosciuszko field is chosen by winning ticket holders, who were announced on Thursday after being drawn out of a raffle.

It’s Me had been at the top of Kosciuszko betting and in her absence, Front Page is the new $6 TAB fixed odds favourite in pre-nomination markets.
