Pair of eager juveniles have positioned themselves firmly on the radar with captivating maiden victories at Sydney and Melbourne courses on Monday, attracting early black-type considerations.
In the Sandown feature, the Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young charge Blind Raise ($3.20) announced his arrival with a polished 2¼-length score in the Happy 50th to Nick and Jamie Gold Handicap (1400m).

The camp didn’t hesitate to map out next steps for the gelding, locking in the Listed Anzac Day Stakes (1400m) at Flemington come April 25.
“It was good to see as when they trial up like that at home and then you always want to see them do it on race day,” Busuttin said.
“He’s very calm and I was surprised how calm he was saddling up.”
By Ace High, conqueror of the Group 1 Victoria Derby and Spring Champion Stakes, Blind Raise exhibits an exceptional level-headedness.
“He has just been bombproof the whole way through,” Busuttin added, remarking how the colt’s unflappable vibe bucks the trend.
Chris Waller at Rosehill meanwhile debuted Blitzgal ($2.50), who stormed home by 3¾ lengths in the Drinkwise Plate (1400m).
Though the margin was substantial, Waller sees room for further growth.
“It was a very good display on debut,” Waller said.
“She still did a few things wrong and was wayward in the straight.
She was a little bit keen and wobbled when Zac (Lloyd) asked her to come off heels and accelerate.”
Zac Lloyd, the jockey, was upbeat too, citing her brisk start and positional sense as cornerstones for future success.
Secured for $70,000 during the 2024 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale, Blitzgal breaks the ice as a winner from Tropezina and holds great promise as she advances.
These debutants are primed for richer prizes, with their strong starts signaling contributions to prominent races soon.
