Grahame Begg, facing logistical challenges, starts Miraval Rose and So Glamorous in the Group 3 Geoffrey Bellmaine Stakes (1200m) at Sandown instead of their preferred Caulfield, due to a venue change prompted by ongoing council approvals following a fire.
Miraval Rose returns to racing after a win at the Kensington Stakes (1400m), and So Glamorous competes for the first time since November, having placed second in the rain at the Summoned Stakes. Craig Williams rides Miraval Rose, and Damian Lane rides So Glamorous, both continuing from their last races.
“They’ve both trained on well since their last starts,” Begg noted.
Miraval Rose, having had a break, prepared with a recent jump-out. So Glamorous, lacking a win since December 2023 but consistently placing, may find the 1200m too short.
Post-race, Miraval Rose targets the Tressady Stakes (1400m) and So Glamorous the Mannerism Stakes (1400m), setting distinct paths for each. Begg’s strategy includes regular rest and varied training, maintaining fitness without compromising recovery.
