Golden Rose Tips, Field Preview and Selections – 2021

It’s one of the most highly anticipated races for three-year-olds all year, and a typically talented field will contest the 2021 Golden Rose at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday.

Anamoe couldn’t have been more impressive in his return to the races and perhaps understandably, he has opened a firm favourite in 2021 Golden Rose betting.

He features prominently in my 2021 Golden Rose Tips below.

Golden Rose – Winner – No. 1 Anamoe

On face value, the $1.90 about Anamoe in Golden Rose betting looks short, but he is a star on the rise, he gets his ideal conditions on Saturday, and I think he’ll just win.

The Street Boss colt was nothing short of outstanding during his two-year-old season, finishing in the places of both the Neds Blue Diamond and the Golden Slipper and winning the Inglis Sires’ most notably.

He returned one of the standout performances of the season so far to win The Run To The Rose a fortnight ago, and he’ll only improve second-up and out to 1400m.

Golden Rose – 2nd – No. 2 Artorius

I thought that his last-start effort left a little to the imagination, but I am an enormous Artorius fanboy, and I’m still confident that his class will see him into the finish of the Golden Rose.

The Flying Artie colt enjoyed a meteoric rise to prominence in autumn, winning the Neds Blue Diamond at just her third career start.

He has stripped fitter for consecutive second placings in the McNeil Stakes and the Exford Plate, and fitter third-up under the in-form Jason Collett, he certainly has the means to fight out the finish once more.

Golden Rose – 3rd – No. 12 Jamaea

She is one of just two fillies in the Golden Rose field, and I think that Jamaea can run herself into the first three.

The daughter of Headwater has been the stable star for Robert & Luke Price since making her debut, winning three times and finishing second twice in seven previous trips to the races.

She takes her place in the Golden Rose field following her best performance and win to date in the Furious Stakes, and I can’t find a reason why she won’t be in the finish again.

Golden Rose – 4th – No. 4 Hilal

He is yet to show his best in two starts back this time, but Hilal has certainly taken benefit, and he looks a touch of overs in Golden Rose betting at odds of $34.

The Fastnet Rock colt was another standout performer during the recent Autumn Carnival and ended his campaign with consecutive second placings in the Inglis Sires’ and the Champagne Stakes.

He was only half a length behind the winner (and closer to Artorius) in the Exford Plate last time, and he looks to strike this race in peak condition.
