A key Golden Rose contender will miss the race after being diagnosed with a epiglottis entrapment which will require an operation.
Weatherly who was a $26 chance in 2016 Golden Rose markets before news broke that he will miss the race will now be aimed at the Coolmore Stud Stakes at Flemington.
