Sydney filly Global Glamour has gone back-to-back at Group One level, leading throughout to win the Thousand Guineas at Caulfield.
A week after winning the Flight Stakes at Randwick, Global Glamour ($4.40) held off I Am A Star ($21) and Whispering Brook ($8.50) on Saturday.
The win also marked the second Group One success for Tulloch Lodge training partners Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott.
While Global Glamour gave Waterhouse a ninth Flight Stakes win, Thousand Guineas success had been elusive for one of Australian racing’s best trainers.
“To come down to Melbourne after that and back it up, first time on a difficult track, to win that way, fantastic,” Bott said.
