Spring Champion Stakes winner Hampton Court is the latest of this season’s three-year-old Group One winners headed to stud.

The colt will stand in Victoria at Spendthrift Australia alongside United States shuttle stallions Can The Man, Jimmy Creed and Warrior’s Reward.

Spendthrift’s American owner B Wayne Hughes bought Yallambee Stud last month to increase his involvement in Australian racing.

A son of Redoute’s Choice trained by Gai Waterhouse, Hampton Court will stand his first season at $8,800.

“We are thrilled to be able to stand Hampton Court at Spendthrift Australia in our inaugural season,” Hughes said.

“It was important for us to bring in a colonial horse that will be exciting for breeders.”

Hampton Court’s dam Roses `N’ Wine is from the family of champion mare Makybe Diva.

Hughes, 81, bought the famous Spendthrift Farm in Kentucky in 2004.

Malibu Moon heads Spendthrift’s Kentucky roster of 19 stallions. There are also regional North American farms in Canada, Louisiana, Maryland and New York.

Hallowed Crown (Golden Rose, Randwick Guineas), Shooting To Win (Caulfield Guineas), Brazen Beau (Coolmore Stud Stakes, Newmarket Handicap) and Wandjina (Australian Guineas) are the other three-year-old Group One winning colts going to stud this year.
