The recent international domination of the Sportingbet Geelong Cup looks set to continue on Wednesday with English stayer Forgotten Voice a clear-cut $3.40 favourite with Sportingbet Australia to take out the group 3 race.
“The market has only just opened and already the punters are backing him, he’s already firmed from $3.60 into $3.40,” Sportingbet’s Michael Felgate said.
“He just missed out on a run in the Caulfield Cup where he was given a sneaky chance after working well with Dandino who ran a blinder on Saturday, so I think we’ll see a lot more money for Forgotten Voice.”
Peter Moody’s Ibicenco has been installed a $5 second favourite ahead of Verdant at $5.50 and Crafty Cruiser at $6.
“There’s no doubt that if Forgotten Voice is at his top he could be too classy for his rivals.” Felgate said.
Team Williams will be looking to add another Cup to their trophy cabinet with Fawkner’s older brother Tanby lining up in his second Sportingbet Geelong Cup after finishing second as favourite in 2011.
“We are keeping Tanby very safe at $10 despite his recent poor form, the blinkers go on for the first time in the Cup and as we saw on the weekend the stable is flying,” Felgate said.
