Racing Queensland will cut $18 million in prize money as the cash-strapped body tries to balance its books.
Interim CEO Ian Hall says Racing Queensland, which posted a loss of $12 million in 2014/15 and was forecast to lose $28 million in 2015/16, can no longer spend money it doesn’t have.
“For too long Racing Queensland has been seen as a bank for the industry,” he said.
