The Victoria Racing Club (VRC) will pay tribute to our courageous service men and women at the traditional ANZAC Day racemeeting on Wednesday, 25 April at Flemington.

Long an ANZAC Day tradition, the Flemington raceday will host a moving ceremony in the Mounting Yard led by RSL State Vice President George Logan.

CEO Dale Monteith said the VRC remains proud to be involved in the year’s most important national occasion.

“The VRC is humbled to honour our returned service men and women and remember those who lost their lives serving our nation,” Mr Monteith said.

Current and returned service men and women will be offered free admission and can enjoy a free drink at any bar on-course between 1 pm and 2 pm (upon presentation of an RSL Badge, RSL (Service) Membership Card, Return From Active Service Badge, ADF ID, or Medals).

On the track, the time honoured VRC St Leger (2800m) for three-year-olds – a race older than the Emirates Melbourne Cup – highlights an exciting eight-race program.

Since 1857, even in wartime the VRC St Leger has been run each year, enduring as a beacon of hope during the nation’s darkest times.
There is an exciting range of free kids’ activities that will take place on the public lawn in front of the winning post, including pony rides, face painting, tug of war, soccer and craft activities.
