Another Prophet ready to go in Australian Guineas 2025

Champion trainer Ciaron Maher is setting his sights on another Australian Guineas triumph, with promising filly Another Prophet ready to take on the Group 1 feature at Flemington.

Maher, who previously won the race with Hitotsu in 2022 and Southport Tycoon in 2023 alongside jockey Jamie Melham, is confident in his contender’s ability. His stable has also entered Kalkallo and Railway Man for Saturday’s race, but both are more likely to compete at Sandown midweek.

Another Prophet’s campaign has been centered around the Guineas since her victory in the Group 1 Thousand Guineas at Caulfield last November. Maher has no qualms about her facing male rivals in this contest.

“She’s in good order and she’s still going forward,” Maher said. “I don’t think it makes too much difference taking on the boys on Saturday and she’s ready to run out a strong mile.”

Recent history has seen fillies succeed in the Guineas, with Mystic Journey (2019) and Legarto (2023) proving their class against the colts. Another Prophet will be one of three fillies contesting the race, alongside London’s Image from Western Australia and Chris Waller’s Declichy Boulevard.

Among the other entries is New Zealand’s Savaglee, looking to follow in the footsteps of fellow Kiwi Legarto’s triumph.

Leading the betting markets is Angel Capital at $3.50, with Point And Shoot and Sepals sitting at $6 as final declarations approach on Wednesday. Stay updated with betting sites for the latest odds.
