Favourites odds blow-out in The Everest

She’s one of only two last start Group l winners in the field, but star three year old filly She Will Reign is an alarming drifter in betting for The Everest (1200m) at Randwick this Saturday.

The Gary Portelli trained Slipper winner resumed with a sensational win in the Moir under the lights at the Valley. She remains down in the weights, draws well and from all reports, she broke the clock in trackwork this week. Still, punters are shying away. She opened the $4.80 favourite and is unwanted, out to $6.50.

The new favourite is the other last start Group l winner Vega Magic for the Hayes/Dabernig team with Craig Williams steering. Despite drawing wide, he has been well backed. He opened $5.50 and was crunched to $4.60 before a late drift to $4.80.

The Grey Flash that is Chautauqua was supported, into $5 from $6, but now sits at $5.50.
