The odds of Earthquake winning Saturday’s Golden Slipper have eased from $2.10 to $2.30 at Sportingbet after the unbeaten filly drew barrier 13, a gate that no horse has ever won the race from.
Second favourite Mossfun remains a $6 chance at Sportingbet.com.au after landing barrier 11, in front of Ghibellines at $10, who will start from barrier 2.
“Earthquake’s clearly the best horse in the race but the wide barrier is going to make her job that much tougher so she’s entitled to drift in the market,” Sportingbet.com.au CEO Michael Sullivan said.
“If there’s any rain this week Earthquake will probably ease further and I expect they will come for Mossfun and Bring Me The Maid.”
The Peter Moody-trained Bring Me The Maid firmed from $15 into $12 at Sportingbet.com.au after drawing favourably in gate 5.
