News:

Owner Robert Masterson has confirmed Tepin is still on course for Royal Ascot despite concerns about the mare having to race without her usual aids.

The five-year-old customarily runs on the anti-bleeding medication Lasix and with a nasal strip in America where she has racked up a string of big-race successes including last year’s Breeders’ Cup Mile.

Both items are banned in Britain and after Tepin worked without them on Saturday, trainer Mark Casse outlined his concern about running in their absence.

However, Masterson and his team have decided to continue on the Royal Ascot trail despite those worries and are keen to see how Tepin fares in the Queen Anne Stakes.

“We are planning to take the filly to Royal Ascot and run in the Queen Anne,” Masterson told Thoroughbred Daily News.

“Right now, all systems are go and everybody is on board. She obviously has some things to overcome that are different than the way she is running here, but we would like to go try it and see how she does.”
