Doomben Cup favourite Streama is having her top spot threatened after a hefty plunge on Junoob.
The Chris Waller trained Junoob was hammered overnight and has firmed from $6.00 into $4.80 with online bookmaker Sportsbet.com.au, equal second favourite with Akzar. Streama ($4.40) has been friendless.
“Junoob has been very well backed and is the best supported runner and Akzar has stayed firm. It’s surprising there has been little action for Streama, she’s the class runner, but at this stage punters are shying away,’’ Sportsbet.com.au’s Shaun Anderson said.
In tomorrow’s other showcase race, the Scone Guineas, outsider Jessy Belle ($21) is the best backed runner. Under The Louvre ($9.00) is the next best backed but there has been little love for favourite Chautauqua ($2.50).
